SSL upgrade

Good morning, CharlesWorks email users!

Just an update to let you know we are updating our security certificate on one of our mail servers.

If you receive this email, then there is an account on it that may be forwarded to you from your website or used by you directly – this notification is sent to them all.

While this is happening, you may get a notice that the certificate has expired today’s date. That is okay and normal in this circumstance.

Browsers may tell you it is unsafe to visit the mega.charlesworks.com webpage for webmail. That is also okay and normal in this circumstance.

We expect the upgrade will be completed by this afternoon.

Enjoy the weekend and stay warm (it’s about -4 degrees here in Peterborough right now)!
Charles

This is an example of another way I had hoped this functionality could be used. Making notifications that were posted to a particular area of a website, for instance, could allow website visitors to view updates and notices in real time.

Remote posting

Here it is, finally!

Still trying!

This was my first attempt at pushing a post into the website that contained a video. It actually didn’t work very well. Initially, the video started on its own and looped, which I thought was a rotten thing to do to any site visitor. I’d rather have the site visitor decide on their own rather than have a video – especially if it has sound – pushed on them. After some fiddling and editing of the WordPress video shortcode, I finally got it right.

Oh, and that iguana in the short clip above was filmed by me on February 10th, 2021 at 2:14 pm alongside the Wyndham Margaritaville office while Susan and I were visiting St. Thomas.

Here we go without HTML

Ok, we’re off again!

Trying to disallow HTML tags.

Let’s see how we did.

So this was a test post checking out how it looked without HTML. I’m really not happy with how the HTML version renders. It tends to place bunches of additional code in the page that can interfere with the CSS in the website.

Productive and Organized

Here is a really organized desk where one can be very productive!

Mine only looks like this on special occasions.

Most days are not special…

An Organized Desk with 2 monitors, keyboard and mouse

As an afterthought, this post was the first I put on this site just to get a sense of what it might look like. My goal here was to experiment with a plugin that allows me to email posts to a website. My thinking was this would be a very convenient way to handle everything from a simple blog to even a website resource section (like in my https://CharlesWorks.com/resources page). The goal with this could be to rough out an idea for a website post and have that roughed out piece appear in the site as a draft. When convenient I could then update it and fancy it up into a full blown article.
