Moon Dust

We actually hit 56 miles to the gallon on our drive from Peterborough, New Hampshire down to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with our 2026 Toyota Camry hybrid. Our Camry usually averages between about 48 and 56 miles to the gallon.

What a difference from the 2016 GMC Acadia’s usual 18 to 21 miles per gallon on previous trips!

We thought about it more this time since gasoline is the highest we have ever seen it in both our lives in the United States. The price we paid for gasoline during this trip ranged from $3.95 to $4.89. It’s better than a dollar a gallon more on average since Trump started his Iran war. Unfortunately, groceries have been on the rise as well, most likely as a result of the rising fuel costs.

The best milage I have gotten from either vehicle has been when using cruise control. Obviously the cars are better than I am at managing gasoline.

It has been miserably hot and humid the past few weeks.

Today we seem to be back to normal for a while. It’s a beautiful Friday afternoon in Peterborough, NH and all the windows are open letting a slight breeze through.

So here is a message where I was testing out moving this website to a new web server. Again, was very easy to edit. I have the plugin I use for this set to create a draft now so the post is just there waiting for me to create it into what I want to have displayed.

Here’s a test post added manually to see how the formatting is in it. I’ll even add a picture in here to see how it displays. The picture of our Margaritaville clock that Bruce and Robin gave me for my birthday while we were in Margaritaville in 2021 I believe now hangs in our three season back porch where we are reminded of the fun we have going to St. Stomas.

This is an example of a quick post that I added to. The picture came through the email okay but was upside down for some reason. However, it was a quick edit to correct it. And a quick edit to brush up the text.

The should be no disruption in mail flow although the server will be inaccessible for as long as 10 minutes.

Email server notifications could be a really important use of this type of functionality. Unfortunately, some people lose their minds if their email doesn’t work 100% the way they expect it. If you knew what I know about email transports, you might be surprised that it works at all. In a nutshell, email requires that nearly a dozen servers all work perfectly in order to get the email from one place to another. Amazingly, it works extremely well. However, the monkey wrench in the works is the increased mitigation of spam and phishing emails. I predict it will only get worse as we move forward.
